  1. I wanted the best capacity-to-weight ratio, so I plotted Monty’s measured capacity against the manufacturer’s stated weight

    53Wh / 450g = 118Wh/kg – Belkin BoostCharge 3-Port Laptop Power Bank 20000mAh
    27Wh / 144g = 188Wh/kg – Anker Nano 3-in-1 Portable iPhone Charger 10,000mAh Power Bank
    45Wh / 510g = 88Wh/kg – Anker Prime Power Bank 20k
    61Wh / 400g = 153Wh/kg – INIU 140W Power Bank Compact 25000mAh
    53Wh / 440g = 120Wh/kg – Anker Power Bank 20000mAh Travel Essential Built-in USB-C 87W

There are plenty of 18650 cells over 200Wh/kg, some even around 250Wh/kg. I’m really interested in seeing products come on the market either:

    1. Rated at 100Wh for broad FAA approval under 500g
    2. Rated at 160Wh for select airline approval under 800g
    3. Rated at 200-500Wh for long non-flight backpacking trips under 1.0-2.5kg

  2. Video was very detailed but at the end I was not sure why rank 1 was rank1 or why others were ranked that way. Maybe too much technical for me to understand but would be much helpful if it was simplified – also not sure if all power banks were meant for same utility category

  3. I DON’T KNOW IF YOU EVER READ THE COMMENTS, BUT CAN SOMEONE PLEASE ADDRESS THE BUILT-IN CHORDS AND WHAT HAPPENS TO THEM IF THEY QUIT WORKING. I’M TALKING ABOUT THE ANKER PRODUCTS. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY JUST HAVE TO HANG THERE.
